김충기 과학기술유공자(KAIST 명예교수)가 지난 10월 6일 KAIST 퓨전홀에서 '공학자의 마음'에 관한 초청 강연을 했다. 이날 강연은 미국 전기전자공학협회에서 발간하는 'IEEE Spectrum'에 <대한민국 반도체 산업의 대부, 김충기는 어떻게 한국이 반도체 강국이 되도록 기여했나>라는 제목의 기고문이 실린 것을 기념하기 위해 마련됐다. 김충기 교수는 국내 교수로는 세 번째, 전자공학 분야 교수 중엔 처음으로 호암상(1993)을 수상했으며, 이후 국민훈장 모란장(1997)을 수상했고 2019년에는 과학기술유공자로 지정된 바 있다.

■ 수상

권욱현 과학기술유공자가 지난 2월 9일(한국시각 2월 10일)에 미국공학한림원(NAE, National Academy of Engineering)의 국제회원으로 선임된 데 대해 지난 10월 2일 미국 워싱턴 DC의 미국공학한림원에서 개최된 회원 수여식에 참여해 회원 증서를 받고 축하연에 참석했다.

권욱현 과학기술유공자는 DGIST 전기전자컴퓨터공학과의 초빙석좌교수로 2023.1.1.에서 2023.12.31.까지 재임용됐다.

■ 학술활동

서울대학교 전기정보공학부에서 주관하는 2022 Wook Hyun Kwon Lecture (https://kwonlecture.snu.ac.kr)가 2022년 9월 16일 서울대 관정도서관에서 개최됐다. 강연자는 호주의 호주국립대학(ANU)의 Brian Anderson 교수였고, 강연제목은 “Mathematics of Formation Control”이었다. 전국에서 100명 이상이 참석하여 성황을 이뤘다.

■ 사회 공헌

DGIST 전기전자컴퓨터공학과에서 수여하는 “권욱현우수연구상”수상자 김상준, 신권식 박사과정 연구원에게 권욱현 유공자가 직접 상을 수여했다. 대한전기학회에서 수여하는 “권욱현기술혁신상”은 파이오링크 조영철 대표가 2022년 10월 20일 제어부문학회 정기총회에서 수상했다. 제어로봇시스템학회에서 수여하는 “권욱현젊은연구자상”은 11월 29일 정기총회에서 UNIST 오현동 부교수에게 권욱현 유공자가 직접 수여했다.
